Hello
I’m Dave and I love photography. Mom wouldn’t let me use her camera so at the age of 14 I got my first camera with three cereal box tops and 50 cents. Film and processing was expensive, so I got a paper route and my photography career was born. I even took the camera apart to see how it worked and I took my first time exposures. I still have that camera and photography still excites me. I hope to inspire you to take some beautiful images.
My Story
After graduating high school, I moved to California and earned my Bachelors in Photographic Illustration from Brooks Institute. I couldn’t have been more excited to learn from exceptional professionals and I did learn that photography was more than just using a camera. I mastered lighting, processing, optics, and large format. I moved to Chicago where I worked for the worlds largest store and quickly moved up to a Senior Photographer position. I moved back to Michigan where I worked for a soap manufacture before opening my own studio. My clients were companies needing catalogs, brochures, and advertising. Photography advanced into digital processing and I embraced it early on. I have given up the deadlines and layouts and I still accept occasional jobs, but I love experimenting with techniques and options the new technology offers.
